Jessica (McAllister) Besaw is the Academic Success Coordinator for the Office of Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Education (CTPE). She began her work with the office in 2017 after having served in the public-school system as both a general education teacher and special education teacher. Jessica is a passionate educator that believes in facilitating a rich classroom environment built through experiential learning, multiple means of representations, and student led curriculum. Her professional duties include supporting student progress in accordance with their person-centered plan and providing instruction and academic support to students in an inclusive, universally designed manner. She also provides academic advising, as well as supporting interdisciplinary instructors through trainings and strategies focusing on the execution of Universally Designed Instruction (UDI). Jessica currently teaches Senior Seminar, Introduction to Personal Finance, and Financial Security on a Budget.
